Eye in sky spies dumpers
The attached article points out that illegal dumping is being investigated within the Gosford City and Wyong Shire Council areas.
Illegal dumping does not only constitute actual rubbish that would ordinarily get dumped at the tip, this often includes large piles of tree stumps, leaf mulch (often comprising of palm tree mulch which is very difficult for contractors to get rid of without incurring dumping costs) and branches and other vegetation.
Whilst vegetation will usully break down and often provide habitat for wildlife illegally dumping of vegetation also has many negative effects on the surrounding environment, and not to mention the costs the illegal dumpers are saving allowing them to be even more competitive in an already tight market.
As a resident undertaking any tree work I strongly suggest you ask your contractor what they intend to do with the debris. If they indicate they will take it to the tip ask them to provide you with a tip receipt or a letter from the land owner where they dispose of the waste.
I can honestly say with no hesitation that I do not have any problems providing evidence of fully legal and ethical disposal of the waste generated as a result of any or all of the activities carried out during the course of business.
Please dont hesitate to contact me for any further information.
